Scott I've been asked to provide you with feedback on Howie Kaplan. Howie has been an extremely valuable resource for us at RSA supporting the enVision product line. As you may or may not know the enVision product line resells the CLARiiON and Celerra storage solutions. RSA is the Security Division of EMC but also has a partner/customer relationship with EMC "proper" in the aspects of the ordering fulfilling and supporting of the enVision product line. Our model/relationship doesn't always fit the typical model/process flow of other partners as we stock and resell EMC product that is not necessarily sold that way by any other "partner". Howie has helped us tremendously navigate through issues that are unique to RSA by providing direction making contacts internal to EMC for RSA as well as educating those same people of the uniqueness of our relationship and our business model. A perfect example is an issue we had in obtaining support for those storage units we had in process at our integrator NEI. Since these units were in a sort of limbo between the final end customer and having shipped from EMC (more like a unique "channel") there was no way to get support nor supporting spares for those issues that occur from time to time with the inventory RSA consigns at NEI prior to final customer ship. Howie worked with the local DSM to develop an EMC/RSA Staging Support Program that provides and efficient process for us to get support/spares in a timely manner to help us meet shipping schedule requirements and maintain positive TCE. Howie has always made himself available to us to answer the simplest of questions we couldn't get answered anywhere else or within a very short period of time when needed. Without his hard work in support of RSA the enVision product line and Information and Event Management Group would not be able to continue to be the fastest growing business unit at RSA.
